According to a new report released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), oral health accounts for 10 per cent of health expenditure in Australia and attracts the second highest expenditure after cardiovascular diseases. This report, the "Health system expenditure on disease and injury in Australia, 2004-05" provides an analysis of Australian health expenditure in 2004-5 allocated by disease, and is the third in the AIHW’s disease expenditure series.
