The final version of the extended strategic plan is almost at hand. Today, team members met for a holistic wordsmithing session. Brochure design and layout planning is already underway.

A few late entries for the tagline were received, and LX has endorsed: "Your partner in scholarship". Thank you to all who contributed.

This week, the team received an inquiry from another colleague in the US. They are also going through a strategic planning process, and are interested in seeing our draft. We were happy to share.

Eight feedback sessions for Library staff were held over July 4th to 12th, at Gatton, Ipswich, Herston, Mater, PACE and St Lucia.

Strategic Planning team members presented the process so far, then discussed comments with attending Library staff.

Great discussions were had at each session, along with much appreciated sustenance.

The team wishes to extend its thanks to all staff who contributed, either in person, or via proxies. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into responses.

On 16/7, the team met to incorporate feedback captured - into the draft plan, values and mission statements. The University Librarian expects the final version by July 30th.

The document will be circulated to all Library staff, once available.

A draft version of the plan is with the Library managers who attended the 2.5 strategic planning workshop at the end of May. Their comments are due by June 19th.

Once discussed, the amended draft will be issued to all Library staff for consideration and input. Dates for the Roadshows to each of the four campuses will be released shortly.

The final draft is expected by Bob, by the middle of July.

The Strategic Planning Team has met four times since the managers' 2.5 planning days. The team is now using sticky notes to consolidate the strategies captured.

In speaking with Prof Terry (Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor), Bob (University Librarian) requested that input from the process be articulated around library-specific themes. Operational activities will be moved to the 2014 Library Operational Plan. The strategic plan is still firmly based on the University's three key themes of Learning, Discovery and Engagement.

The draft plan will be circulated to attendees of the 2.5 strategic planning days by the end of this week. Once comments have been received and considered, the draft will be distributed to all Library staff. Roadshow dates for visits to each of the four campuses will be set shortly. Library staff will have the opportunity to discuss the draft strategic plan with team members at these sessions.
