The New Palgrave Dictionary of Economics Essay Prize 2010
Palgrave are pleased to announce the launch of their Essay
Competition, open to anyone interested in economics either from an
academic or professional background.
The winning essay will be published on the Dictionary of Economics
website. The winner will also receive a USD$1000 (GBP£630) cash
prize and a year’s online subscription or a print volume of The New
Palgrave Dictionary of Economics. Entrants must be under thirty
years old.
The essays will be judged by: • Tim Besley, Kuwait Professor of
Economics and Political Science, LSE, former Bank of England
Monetary Policy Committee • Tyler Cowen, Holbert C. Harris Chair of
Economics, Professor at George Mason University and co-author of
the popular economics blog Marginal Revolution • Garret Jones,
BB&T Professor for the Study of Capitalism at the Mercatus
Center and Associate Professor, George Mason University • David
Colander, Christian A. Johnson Distinguished Professor of Economics
at Middlebury College and author of The Making of an Economist •
Charles Wheelan, Lecturer at the University of Chicago, former
Midwest correspondent for The Economist, and the author of Naked
Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science.
