New hand dryers
New Dyson AirBlade hand dryers will soon be installed as a trial in the women's and men's toilets on level 2. These hand dryers dry hands within ten seconds (most hot air dryers take almost 45 seconds to dry hands). The Dyson AirBlade is designed to be more hygienic than other hot air dryers since the air is purified before being directed on to hands. If this trial is successful, we will look to replace the hand dryers on other levels of the library. - Belinda Weaver, Manager

YESYESYES, finally! I'm sick of people opening the bathroom doors with wet hands! People often don't realise that washing hands and leaving them wet often negates the act of handwashing in the first place. Handwashing is one of the simplest methods of preventing the spread of disease - which is easier than a lot of people think! Additionally, research has shown that handwashing compliance amongst members of the public improves if it's quicker to dry their hands - so I hope this works!
