Print from USB
To print from a USB, you need:
- A Library multifunction printer that is setup to print from USB
- Your UQ student ID or print/copy card and sufficient print credit
- Your USB with a file in a printable format (PDF, JPEG, TIFF or XPS)
It must be a USB stick, not a portable hard drive and the USB must be formatted for use with Windows. Please see Ask I.T. or an information desk to loan a USB if necessary.
To start:
- Touch your student ID or print/copy card to the printer card scanner
- Insert your USB
- If you see the External Memory pop-up screen, press Print from External Memory
- If you see the printer menu screen, press External Memory
You will see your files and folders, you can:
- select a folder and press Open at the bottom
- select a file, or multiple files, and click Print on the right
- Press OK if you receive an authentication screen. You will be taken to the Print Options screen.
Print Options
- Press Color to switch between colour printing and black and white
- Press 1-Sided to switch between single and double sided printing
- You can adjust the paper size (e.g. to A3) by pressing Paper
- Press the round Start button
Note: this is a button below the touch screen - The printer will process your print job
Job complete
- Your print credit will be deducted and the job will be printed
- You will be returned to the file list for your USB and continue or log-off
Log-out of the printer
To finish your print session:
- Press the Log out button on the right of the printer screen
- Press Yes to confirm you wish to log off
- Collect your USB
- Collect your printouts
