The University of Queensland Library has a number of venues available for hire. There is a very
attractive Conference Room situated in the Library, Duhig Building on the St Lucia Campus.
The Library also has 15 computer training rooms located on the St. Lucia, Gatton and Ipswich
campuses and at Herston Health Sciences Library, the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Mater
Hospital. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and well appointed.

Room Hire Charges:
Charges for the hire of Library venues are reviewed annually. The staff of Library Corporate
Services will advise you at the time of your enquiry or booking of any additional charges which
might apply in your case, such as hire of special equipment and labour charges.
Special conditions: If any special software needs to be installed for your training sessions it must be provided to the Library Technology Service at a minimum of 14 days in advance of your booking - fee may apply for this service. Please contact LTS on 3346-3600 or email ithelp@library.uq.edu.au. Clients must ensure that all such software is properly licensed and virus free. A copy of the licence will need to be provided.
Please advise at the time of booking if non-UQ clients require internet access.

Clients using the rooms are expected to follow the procedures detailed below:
- Food or drinks are not permitted in the training rooms
- Any user files installed by the trainer must be backed up each night,as other clients may have access to the room in between your courses running
- Trainers must remove from the rooms any item not the property of
the “Training Rooms” (ie empty boxes, papers etc)
- All whiteboards and names plates are to be left clean
- No objects should be placed on the walls
Access to the Conference and Training Rooms:
Clients are advised to collect and sign for the key for these rooms from the
AskIT Information desk on Level 2, Duhig Building. Clients must shut down
all equipment, turn the lights off, lock the door before returning the key to the AskIT
Information desk. All equipment is the responsibility of the Client until the key
is returned to the desk.
Cancellation Policy:
All tentative bookings to be confirmed at least two weeks prior to the date of
required booking. A booking fee of 1 days hire is required on confirmation of booking with the balance to be paid at the commencement of 1st session.
Cancellations within two weeks of the booking will incur a fee of $100.00
administration/software.
