Ebook Packages at UQ Library
Following analysis of ordering patterns and requests over immediate past years, UQ Library began purchasing collections of ebooks from various publishers and societies.
These may be collections from past years; or front files - in effect everything the publisher outputs in the current year, or the year to come.
Usage figures show that these purchases have been well-received, and are an effective and efficient way to purchase resources that support UQ research, and teaching and learning.
The availability of purchased titles is stable over time, and they offer superior digital content management (DRM) to users. UQ Library recommends that academics place these titles on Course Profiles.
The benefits usually include:
- unlimited, simultaneous access by multiple users
- full download to portable devices
- unlimited printing/copying.
