Preamble
The University of Queensland (UQ) Library is committed to supporting the University's research, and teaching and learning agenda. The assessments reflect current trends at UQ, and respond to changes in direction through regular updating.
Purpose of the collection
UQ Library's collection in this area primarily supports the teaching and research activities of staff and students in the Schools of Psychology, Education, Social Science, and Human Movement Studies and their associated research centres. The Schools and Centres are part of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences.

The emphasis is on collecting recent publications (last 5 years), however older materials will be purchased to support teaching and research.

Very large undergraduate enrolments in the School of Psychology.
Externally-taught postgraduate courses in the School of Education may require additional provision; these courses include the subject areas: guidance and counselling, at-risk youth, assessment of students with special needs, career counselling, behaviour management.
