Preamble
The University of Queensland (UQ) Library is committed to supporting the University's research, and teaching and learning agenda. UQ librarians maintain subject assessments based on the Commonwealth Government Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative's Field of Research codes. The assessments reflect current trends at UQ, and respond to changes in direction through regular updating.
Purpose of the collection
UQ Library's collection in this area supports the teaching and research activities of staff and students in the School of Architecture, the Aboriginal Environments Research Centre (AERC) and the Centre for Sustainable Design (CSD). All Schools and Centres are part of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture & Information Technology.

The Library holds print and electronic book titles in the area. Experienced librarians develop the collection, and welcome input from academic staff. Relevant print collections are grouped under this classification number: NA. The following specialist book collections are available:

The collection is primarily in English but no language is excluded. Journals and higher level materials are available in other languages.

No geographical areas are excluded, although emphasis in some areas is on Australian and Asian material.

No form of material is excluded. Primary materials and secondary texts are collected in both print and electronic formats. Materials are also held in various audio, video and DVD formats. A number of journal back runs and primary source material are also held in microform.
